Gold Ore is found in Bloodblight Swamp, on the eastern side of the map. The most useful farming area combines an eastern-edge cave with several nearby surface nodes: mine the cave, move south to the ledge beyond it, then check west for another Gold Ore Node before returning to your Lodestone.
Bring an Iron Pickaxe and anti-poison protection. A Hatchet is needed to cut through the vines blocking the cave entrance, while Windstep helps you reach the ore cluster south of the cave. The available location records do not provide reliable coordinates, so this guide uses the swamp edge, cave, hills, and nearby ledge as landmarks.
What to Bring Before Entering the Swamp
Gold is not an early-region resource that you can collect with any mining tool. Prepare before making the trip so that poison, enemies, or a full inventory do not end the run early.
| Preparation | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Iron Pickaxe | Gold Ore Nodes now require an Iron Pickaxe rather than a Bronze Pickaxe. |
| Anti-poison potion | Entering Bloodblight Swamp poisons the player. Weak or stronger anti-poison protection gives you time to search and mine safely. |
| Hatchet | The eastern cave entrance is covered by vines that must be chopped down. |
| Windstep | The route south of the cave crosses a swamp gap to reach a valuable surface cluster. |
| Lodestone materials | A nearby fast-travel point turns the area into a practical repeat farming route. |
| Open inventory space | Gold, Silver, Tin, stone, and occasional gems can fill your carrying capacity quickly. |
| Combat supplies | Rats, exploding plants, and stronger enemies may occupy parts of the swamp. |
Take the anti-poison potion before committing to the mining route, not after your health is already under pressure. If your protection is short, farm the outside clusters first and leave the cave or deeper swamp for a second trip.
Do not replace the Iron Pickaxe with Rocksplosion in your preparation plan. Rocksplosion is useful for hitting grouped deposits quickly, but the Iron Pickaxe remains the dependable tool requirement for Gold Ore.
Where Gold Spawns in Bloodblight Swamp
The supplied location evidence consistently places mineable gold in Bloodblight Swamp. Search the eastern and southeastern side of the region rather than the earlier metal areas. Fractured Plains is primarily associated with Copper and Tin, while Stormtouched Highlands is associated with Iron; continuing to search those regions is a common reason players fail to find gold.
There are three useful parts to the Bloodblight route. They are close enough to combine into one run, but each has different access and safety considerations.
Eastern-Edge Cave
Look along the eastern edge of Bloodblight Swamp for a small cave with vines blocking its entrance. Use a Hatchet to cut through the vines. Inside, the recorded resource mix includes Gold, several Silver veins, a Tin node, and a chest.
The cave is valuable because several resources are packed into a compact space. It also contains exploding plants. Keep your distance from them or deliberately trigger their explosion and dodge away before mining nearby deposits. Do not stand still beside one while opening the chest or clearing a node.
Rocksplosion is especially convenient in this confined area because deposits are close together. Be aware that a spell cast may also gather unwanted stone, reducing the inventory space available for Gold Ore and Silver Ore.
Southern Ledge Cluster
After clearing the cave, leave it and head south. Use Windstep to cross the swamp gap to the nearby ledge. This cluster contains two Gold Ore Nodes close enough for an efficient Rocksplosion cast, along with a Silver Ore Node.
This is one of the strongest stops on the route because the gold nodes are grouped instead of scattered. Position yourself between the gold deposits before casting Rocksplosion, then collect the ore before moving on. If you are mining by hand, clear one node at a time and watch your anti-poison duration rather than remaining exposed while sorting your inventory.
From this cluster, move west to check another nearby Gold Ore Node. That final node makes the cave-and-ledge circuit more productive than mining only the first deposit you encounter in the swamp.
Safer Perimeter Hills
Players who are not ready for the cave can work along the safer edge of Bloodblight Swamp. From the accessible side of the region, keep near the right-hand wall and climb the nearby hills. Several reports place Gold Ore Nodes around this outer area, including nodes near the back of the swamp and the dungeon-side hills.
The perimeter route may still have rats, but it avoids pushing into the more dangerous center of the region. Mine the exposed hill nodes, return to your Lodestone when your inventory is full, and add the cave extension only when your supplies and movement abilities allow it.
Recommended Gold Farming Route
Use this order to minimize unnecessary travel and keep a clear exit available:
- Empty your inventory at your base, keeping only mining, survival, movement, and combat essentials.
- Bring an Iron Pickaxe, a Hatchet, anti-poison protection, and the materials needed for a Lodestone if the area does not already have one.
- Travel to Bloodblight Swamp on the eastern side of the map and activate anti-poison before spending time inside the poisoned area.
- Stay near the safer perimeter and mine the exposed Gold Ore Nodes around the hills. This gives you some ore even if you later decide the cave route is too dangerous.
- Find the vine-covered cave along the eastern edge. Cut the vines, deal with or avoid the exploding plants, and clear the Gold Ore Node inside.
- Collect Silver or Tin only if you have room. Gold is the target resource, and carrying every secondary material can force an early return.
- Leave the cave and head south. Use Windstep to cross to the surface ledge containing the close Gold and Silver cluster.
- Mine the two nearby Gold Ore Nodes. Rocksplosion can clear the cluster efficiently, while the Iron Pickaxe gives you more control over what enters your inventory.
- Move west from the ledge cluster and collect the additional nearby Gold Ore Node.
- Return to your Lodestone before anti-poison expires or your inventory reaches its practical limit. Deposit the ore at your base, restock, and repeat the circuit after the nodes have returned.
If you cannot complete every stop safely, shorten the loop. A reliable perimeter run that reaches storage is more productive than a deeper run that ends in a dangerous recovery trip.
How to Identify and Mine a Gold Ore Node
Gold comes from Gold Ore Nodes. When checking mixed mineral areas, confirm the node’s interaction label instead of assuming that every bright deposit is gold. Bloodblight contains Gold and Silver in the same small areas, and the eastern cave also contains Tin.

Gold Ore Nodes glow visibly in the swamp before mining.
Use the Iron Pickaxe to mine a node normally. Each successful Gold Ore Node drop supplies one Gold Ore. The node also has a 1-in-20 chance to produce one Sapphire, so an unexpected gem in your inventory can be a normal result of gold mining.
Rocksplosion is useful when two or more deposits sit inside one cast area. It is particularly effective at the southern ledge cluster and inside the cave. However, it can gather several material types at once. Check your remaining carrying capacity before casting around mixed Gold, Silver, Tin, and stone deposits.
The mining spell that highlights nearby ore can also help with local searches. Treat it as a short-range sweep tool, not a map-wide locator. Use it near cliffs, cave walls, corners, or changes in elevation where a deposit may be difficult to see directly.
Surviving the Bloodblight Route
Poison is the defining hazard of the gold route. Anti-poison protection should be treated as part of the mining requirement even though it is not the tool used on the node. Without it, time spent searching for the cave or sorting gathered materials can become lethal.
Avoid standing in dangerous pools and give hostile environmental objects space. The cave contains exploding plants, while routes farther into the swamp may expose you to more enemies. If your purpose is only to collect gold, there is no reason to fight every creature or explore every branch of the region.
Keep these safety rules in mind:
- Drink anti-poison before beginning the circuit and monitor its remaining duration.
- Stay on the perimeter when learning the region instead of cutting through the middle.
- Leave enough stamina for Windstep, dodging, and the return trip.
- Trigger exploding plants from a safe position before mining beside them.
- Do not sort a full inventory while standing in poison or beside an active enemy spawn.
- Retreat to the Lodestone as soon as your protection or carrying capacity becomes the limiting factor.
Some gold-bearing hills are close to more dangerous encounters. You do not need to engage a nearby boss to complete the basic cave-and-ledge route. Turn back after the known clusters if the terrain begins leading you into a fight you did not prepare for.
Making the Route Repeatable
A Lodestone near the farming area removes most of the repeated journey from your base. Place it in a quiet pocket close to the route, but not directly beside a doorway or enemy group that repeatedly respawns. The useful principle is simple: the Lodestone should let you arrive, reach the first Gold Ore Node quickly, and leave without fighting immediately after teleporting.
One workable setup places the Lodestone near the back or dungeon-side section of the swamp, close to the perimeter hills. Another approach uses a protected spot near the cave circuit. Choose whichever location is safe in your world and mark the eastern cave on your map once you find it.
A full inventory is likely when you clear Gold and Silver together. Teleport home, move the ore into storage, restore your supplies, and return instead of discarding valuable materials in the swamp. If your carrying capacity is limited, prioritize Gold Ore first, Sapphires second, and collect the surrounding Silver only with the remaining space.
This article intentionally does not prescribe a universal “best” Lodestone coordinate. Enemy activity, your unlocked routes, and the part of the circuit you farm most often determine the safest placement. The goal here is only to support the gold run without turning Lodestone placement into a separate route-planning guide.
What Gold Ore Is For
Gold Ore is a basic material rather than currency. Its main processing path is smelting it at a Furnace. Three Gold Ore produce one Gold Bar and award 10 XP for that furnace operation.
| Product | Facility | Materials | XP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 Gold Bar | Furnace | 3 Gold Ore | 10 |
| 1 Medium Gold Nugget | Build Menu | 3 Gold Ore | 20 |
| 1 Small Gold Nugget | Build Menu | 1 Gold Ore | 20 |
| 1 Small Gold Bin | Build Menu | 50 Gold Ore and 4 Ash Logs | 20 |
If Gold Bars are your target, calculate the trip around the three-to-one ratio. Nine ore produce three bars, while thirty-nine ore produce thirteen bars. Leave room for the ore itself rather than filling your inventory with secondary materials before reaching the main clusters.
The Furnace also needs its normal operating fuel. Check that your base has charcoal before returning with a full load; otherwise the ore will remain unprocessed until you restock the Furnace.
Other Ways to Obtain Gold Ore
Mining Bloodblight is the direct and repeatable method, but it is not the only recorded source. Gold Ore can also appear in enemy packs, salvage, and chests, or be purchased from a merchant.
| Source | Gold Ore quantity | Recorded availability |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Ore Node | 1 | Always |
| Zogre Pack | 2–10 | Always |
| Skeleton Pack | 1–2 | 20/100 |
| Metal Salvage | 1–2 | 5.56/100 |
| Dowdun Reach chest | 2–4 | Two chest entries are recorded at 1/17 and 1/100 |
| Beartach the Merchant | 1 purchase | Costs 18 Garou Chits |
These alternatives are useful for topping up a small shortage, but they do not replace the Bloodblight route when you need a dependable supply. Packs and chests depend on obtaining the correct drop, while the merchant trades another resource for each purchase.
Common Gold-Farming Problems
The node cannot be mined
Check your tool first. A Bronze Pickaxe is no longer sufficient for Gold Ore Nodes; equip an Iron Pickaxe. If you reached the region before upgrading your mining tool, mark the location and return after the upgrade.
No gold appears in the current region
Confirm that you are in Bloodblight Swamp. Copper and Tin searches commonly lead players into Fractured Plains, while Iron searches lead toward Stormtouched Highlands. Gold and Silver are associated with Bloodblight on the eastern side of the map.
The swamp drains health too quickly
Leave the region and prepare anti-poison protection. Do not attempt to compensate by rushing blindly between nodes. A weak anti-poison potion can support a shorter run, while longer protection gives more time for the cave and ledge extension.
The cave entrance looks blocked
The eastern cave is sealed by vines. Bring a Hatchet and cut them down. If you entered the swamp without one, farm the exterior nodes rather than wasting your anti-poison duration at the entrance.
The inventory fills before the route is complete
Prioritize Gold Ore and gems. Rocksplosion can collect stone and nearby secondary ore, so hand-mine individual gold nodes when space is tight. A nearby Lodestone lets you deposit the first load and return for Silver or other materials.
The next cluster is visible but difficult to reach
The southern extension uses Windstep to cross the gap beyond the cave. If you cannot make that crossing reliably, finish the cave and perimeter nodes, then return later. The surface extension improves the route but is not required to obtain your first Gold Ore.
